Accounting Manager
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls. This role manages accounting staff, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and partners with leadership to provide timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or applicable standards)
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
- Coordinate audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance reviews
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax, sales/use tax, and regulatory requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership on financial initiatives and process improvements
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and accounting automation efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting systems/ERPs and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA certification
- Public accounting experience
- Experience in [industry, e.g., SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.]
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Work Environment
Salary: $130-$165k
